This quick dipping sauce recipe is what I use whenever I need something quick to eat for lunch. Ready-made dimsum is always a life-saver for me. At times when work is hectic and I cannot spend a lot of time cooking (I telework), I would either microwave dumplings and/or deep fry some squid or fish balls. Mix all the ingredients in this quick dipping sauce recipe and I am done. Ten minutes tops and I’m back in front of my workstation at home!
Hubby and I are still on our renewed lifestyle. No meat and rice or noodles during the week – just vegetables and fish. Altho, I have to admit, we indulge in meat and rice on the weekends. It’s hard to maintain that pescatarian diet when you have an active social life. So we both try to forgive ourselves and give in to cheat Saturdays and Sundays.

I usually prepare fish and vegetable dishes for dinner in time for when hubby comes home. But when I’m alone for lunch, I just eat what is fastest for me to get. I would sometimes go to the chinese restaurant near our place and order sashimi and a small bowl of mixed vegetables. Or when it’s cold outside, i just have some leftovers from the previous night. But there are days when I have a craving for something fresh or I’m stress eating. That’s when I need to cook something fast.
So this quick dipping sauce recipe doesn’t even call for a lot of ingredients. Altho I have to admit, my pantry is stocked with a number of asian spices, but still, these ingredients are not hard to find. Plus, if you want to start cooking more asian food, these spices and condiments go a long way.
